The tips you give are important so readers be sure to follow them. I would add you need an 8mm spline socket for the drive shafts and an 8 mm hex socket for the drive shaft coupler.
Also on 924 turbo's you will need to remove the muffler bracket at the rear. If you are able to shift the transmission by hand then make sure the drive axle rotates in opposite directions and moves smoothly. If you need to clean it up use a high power pressure washer, some degreaser and a brush. Conditioning-wise best thing you can do is give it a fresh oil change.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02453087378158817318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889694669927401545.post-73813081341699550402012-12-25T03:32:57.918+00:002012-12-25T03:32:57.918+00:00Hi..I am looking to change the transfer in my car....Hi..I am looking to change the transfer in my car..I bought a Turbo transfer and I wanted to know how to tell if its good or not. Just go their site, locate your local dealer, give them a call and tell them what you need. From experience parts direct from Porsche can often be cheaper than a third party on the web, but shop around just to be sure - Porscheshop and pelican parts are usually pretty competitive on price too, just google them, depends where you're located though.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02453087378158817318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889694669927401545.post-19070306915961940502011-07-08T11:23:21.691+01:002011-07-08T11:23:21.691+01:00Hello, Dave, just curious, where on earth did you...Hello, Dave, just curious, where on earth did you find the transmission mounts?ButterCupnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889694669927401545.post-88442647759667219832011-06-06T23:19:17.193+01:002011-06-06T23:19:17.193+01:00Here's a link with some pictures on Pelican Pa...Here's a link with some pictures on Pelican Parts showing the the speedometer sensor on the later 944 transmission, other than that everything is the same as the early version.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/441735-early-transmission-late-transmission.htmlDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02453087378158817318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889694669927401545.post-67594187983953363692010-11-03T17:32:27.388+00:002010-11-03T17:32:27.388+00:00The speedometer cable is only present on transmiss...The speedometer cable is only present on transmissions from the oval dash models.
